This course introduces new media as both a technological and socio-cultural phenomenon. It traces the shift from traditional media systems to digital and networked media, with attention to social media, mobile communication, and interactive platforms.

It combines classical and contemporary media theories with practical work, so students learn to assess how new media shape communication, journalism, politics, economics, culture, and daily life.

The course gives strong attention to ethics, regulation, and development, especially in the Global South, alongside hands-on digital content creation and strategy.

The course introduces students to African literature as a discipline. The artistic or creative use of language to recount history, teach morals, share experiences, provide entertainment, and upholAfrican cultural values, among other things, is at the core of African literature. The various genres
and sub-genres of African literature, namely
African Oral Literature
African Prose
African (Traditional and Modern) Drama
African Poetry,
are explored.

The aesthetic values of selected African literary forms, along with the functions of African literature in different African societies, are brought to the fore. Again, the contents of selected African literary works and recurrent themes are also critically analyzed to reflect the trajectory of African literature as well as its contemporary relevance across time and space globally.

This course provides an overview of the major functions of management, with emphasis on planning, organizing, controlling, directing, and communicating.

This course is designed to develop students' ability to read critically, analyze texts, evaluate arguments, and communicate ideas effectively through writing.

Throughout the course, students will develop practical skills in understanding reading passages, identifying an author's purpose and audience, recognising point of view and tone, making inferences, evaluating arguments, paraphrasing, summarising and producing persuasive and issue-based writing.

Students will receive opportunities for practice, discussion, assignments, quizzes, and feedback throughout the semester.

This course provides students with an understanding of the principles and concepts of marketing and their relationship to marketing practice within competitive business and service environments. Emphasis is placed on the practical application of marketing concepts through case studies.
